Senior DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENT

Brian Charles serves as a Senior Director for Phase 3 Real Estate Partners, Inc. His role involves coordinating/managing design and construction teams through project budgeting, construction, and closeout. Brian has a passion for working on challenging projects from conceptual design, constructability review, budgeting through permitting and construction.  

Prior to joining Phase 3, Brian was with Boos Development for 5 years as the Senior Development Manager working in all aspects of commercial development from preliminary budgeting, site selection, entitlements, to environmental review CEQA/EIR, budgets and construction. Prior to Boos he worked for two prominent general contractors in San Diego area for a total of 25 years as senior construction manager and director of construction on projects throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada. 

He has been active in the commercial, industrial & medical/life science construction industry for more than 32 years. He is a second-generation contractor and grew up in the construction industry.  His hands-on experience in trade work, estimating and project management to director of multiple million dollar industrial and commercial projects give him a comprehensive understanding throughout all aspects construction from conceptual design to estimating, value engineering studies through project completion.

He lives in Santee and enjoys all outdoors activities with his wife, son, and their dog. He has been coaching youth sports for over 9 years. While working during the day, he attended SDSU at night for business and construction management. He became licensed contractor at 22 and holds a license has a general and concrete contractor.
